Colored hair routine: Our tips for maintaining your color

Chestnut, red, mahogany, blond, brunette… hair color greatly contributes to defining a person's personality. Changing color is a real act of self-confidence, a desire to enhance and assert your personality. But coloring is also an alteration of the natural hair fiber, which can contribute to weakening the hair, and therefore requires a specific colored hair routine to maintain its beauty over the long term.

Maintaining colored hair

Why is my color fading so quickly? Colored hair often encounters this problem: the color does not hold, it fades over time, it loses its shine. Indeed, many external factors can contribute to the dulling of a color, which was superb when leaving the hairdresser’s: the sun, the pollution, limescale from the shower, but also the use of hair products which composition contains many chemicals, or even a bad toner that disappears over time. To maintain beautiful colored highlights, you must adopt a colored hair routine, formulated specifically with active ingredients that will meet this need.

Because the fiber is altered, colored hair is more fragile. Indeed, especially when it comes to oxidation coloring containing ammonia or ethanolamine, the hair tends to be dry, fine and brittle. The excessive use of chemical hair products or electrical appliances contribute to weakening colored hair even more. The benefits of natural coloring is that it does not penetrate the heart of the hair fiber: it therefore respects the health of the hair. The care provided by plant active ingredients keeps hair nourished and cared for even with a color. Despite everything, even natural coloring needs a good colored hair routine to maintain its shine and preserve the good health of the hair.

Specific care for a colored hair routine

The main specificity of colored hair is that it tends to see its color fade over time. To maintain radiant highlights, there are specific treatments to integrate into your colored hair routine: the Specific Colored Hair Shampoo, and the Colored Hair Care.

Enriched with natural antioxidant active ingredients, this duo gently cleanses and conditions colored hair to prolong its shine. The rare Dragon Blood active ingredients contained in this colored hair routine come from the intense red sap of the dragon tree. Dragon Blood is recognized for two main properties in cosmetics: its healing action and its antioxidant action. The antioxidant action of this care duo is also complemented by the Keraguard® patent, extracted from young sunflower shoots and the tara plant. It prevents the fading of the color and allows various actions to protect colored hair: against pollution, UV rays or even heat. The tannins extracted from the tara plant have a powerful antioxidant power, a real asset in a colored hair routine. The acid pH of these treatments seals the scales of the hair, for a radiant and luminous color, day after day.

If you are used to coloring your hair with the 100% organic Greenleaf Botanical plant-based coloring, add the Mineral Shampoo and the GreenColor Care Conditioner to your colored hair routine, both formulated to complement the Greenleaf coloring. The powder format of the mineral shampoo allows it to be easily taken on the go, and provides volume and shine to colored hair. The conditioner, rich in plant active ingredients and minerals from the sea, prolongs the radiance of plant-colored hair, for a long-lasting beautiful color.
